Where Wednesday Went

Sometimes a whirlwind week is just what a gal needs:

*Four days with the best women friends she could ask for -who manage to take decent photos of typically unphotogenic me. (Is it a hawk or a turkey feather?!)

*Packing for the Barcelona ICSA conference with the goal of no checked luggage. Every. Dot. Matters. For one who struggles with clothes, traveling light doesn't come easily - especially since this is a work trip. What will I wear? I'll be presenting twice. I'll also be learning, growing and connecting with colleagues - live and in person! And I'll be enthusiastically promoting the Sept 28th WRITING SYMPOSIUM! My goal is to get the early bird registration live for the conference.

*When the symposium registration goes live - I promise to let you know! You will be as excited as I am about the lineup of speakers.

*Riveted by a retrospective article in my local paper about the 1984 Raid on Island Pond - a nearby town - my mind's been whirling: What was I so smitten by then that I didn't listen to the news? Today, I'd venture to guess I know more than most about the Twelve Tribes who dish up savory food to lure the vulnerable in remarkably pleasant deli's around the globe. Please hit reply if you have any personal experience about this raid. I can't stop thinking about the survivors I've met... and it's impact on this state I love.

My focus will be on trip preparations over the next few days. Wish me the capacity to focus, simplify and savor home and family before leaving it and them for ten days.

I will see you in two weeks my friends... Gosh. I'm suddenly feeling tender about not writing to you next week... You are an anchor. Please hit reply if you wanna chat or just say hi.
